Why Us

In early 1993, Rev. Wayne Wilson and Fred Roennbeck opened Salt Lake City Mission (SLCM).

In 1997, SLCM joined the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM), now “CITYGATE NETWORK”, and continues to be in good standing, partnering with 300+ rescue missions who are making a difference throughout cities across North America.

Salt Lake City Mission was established to assist the homeless, families living in poverty, and others struggling through adverse circumstances in life. We open our doors to thousands of men, women and children in need of hope.

With help from community partners and caring people, we’ve grown year after year to continue having a greater impact. We wholeheartedly thank God and our committed supporters over the years. Together, we help provide critical services to precious people in dire straits. We remain fully committed to meet the needs of everyone coming through our doors.

It is vital that we welcome everyone, in care and kindness, who is hurting and needs help, and show them that there is a hope for a better tomorrow. Our mission is to share the Gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. This message is at the core of everything we do.

We sincerely thank everyone who has opened their hearts in support, partnering to help us reach out with compassion to transform lives in the Salt Lake Region. Through growing support and community partnership, SLCM will continue to fight poverty and touch the lives of many of the most vulnerable men, women, and children.
