Salt Lake City Mission we established in 1993 as a Church/Gospel Rescue Mission by Rev. Wayne Wilson and Fred Roennbeck, Salt Lake City Mission was established to help the homeless and the poor, to provide programs to help others in need become independent, productive members of society through a life centered in Jesus Christ.
In 1997, the Mission joined the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (A.R.G.M. and formerly known as the International Union of Gospel Missions), and continues to be in good standing in the 300-member organization.
Today, by providing emergency services and long-term recovery programs, the Salt Lake City Mission helps to meet the physical, mental, educational, and spiritual needs of individuals in the greater Salt Lake area.
January 2019 marked our 26th year of serving the greater Salt Lake Region.
Salt Lake City Mission was established to help the many men, women and children who struggle daily through adverse circumstances, poverty, and homelessness. Those who need a life change. We ourselves were once ensnared in the same circumstances experiencing great difficulties in life… trapped in destructive cycles… stuck in difficult situations… We understand the hardship and pain of living life the wrong way. We once also lived lives that were a wreck. Everyone including friends and family gave up on us too, except for GOD.
Then, through the help of others, GOD helped us overcome and gave us the victory over the life controlling problems that kept us in bondage – that kept us from experiencing the best He had for each of us. GOD made us living Testimonies to the fact that “GOD IS REAL” and “GOD REALLY DOES EXIST”. And that HE is an ever present help in our time of need!
Out of this reality and overcoming victory came the drive to help others overcome difficult lives and realize a better way. GOD instructed us to comfort others with the comfort that we were comforted with, and to be faithful unto death.
